The truth is, Geico is being shady. They make you jump through hoops instead of outright denying you to avoid looking bad to regulators.

Sometimes, they just raise your premium so high that you can’t afford it, and then they cancel your policy. My supervisor literally says, ‘There are just people we don’t want to insure.’

Complaint filed with DOBI. They’ve already refunded part of my payment, so I think they’re just waiting to cancel because I didn’t mail the proof.
Mailing the document shows where you are. The postmark provides a regional confirmation, which email cannot. It’s also partly to ensure jobs for those working in mail and print centers.
Mailing the document also makes it easier to track and avoid fraud, unlike electronic submissions.
