My new employer gives me a choice between health insurance plans from United Healthcare or Aetna. Both plans offer the same coverage, so the main difference is the network of doctors and hospitals they work with. I’ve checked online advice, but it doesn’t help in this case.
So, my question is: Does anyone have a strong reason why I should pick one over the other? Customer service matters to me, so which one do you think has better customer service?
Based on my experience, I would prefer Aetna over United Healthcare. Aetna has a 3.5-star rating and provides comprehensive coverage at competitive prices. Their customer care is available seven days a week, and they have a “A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau, which indicates excellent service. United Healthcare, on the other hand, has a two-star rating and has received complaints about limited benefits and coverage concerns. Despite their sophisticated registration process, client discontent remains a worry. Given that customer service is crucial to you, Aetna appears to be the superior option.
