Hey People…
I’m trying to get a better handle on the industry before I start a new job as an Account Executive (AE) on the account management side for employee health. I’ve heard the term “producer” thrown around and wanted to clarify—would my company have told me if I was a producer, which I’m assuming is more of a sales role?
When I asked about the position, they said I’d be working strategically with clients to help them plan their benefits. Does that mean someone else (like a producer or business development person) is responsible for bringing in new business, while I focus on maintaining and growing existing client relationships?
Also, what’s the typical career path here? Is aiming for something like Head of the Pod common in account management?
Best regards…
In the employee health sector, a producer is simply a salesman with expertise in pitching group health insurance products to commercial clients. They are in charge of attracting new customers, learning about their particular requirements, and suggesting health insurance policies that satisfy those requirements.
Take it easy pal evaluating a client’s unique health insurance requirements while taking their budget, desired coverage, and personnel demographics into account.
presenting the customer with a range of health insurance policies, emphasizing the characteristics and advantages of each.
negotiating terms and conditions with insurance providers in order to provide their customers with the greatest offers.
resolving any queries or worries clients may have while offering further assistance.
