I’ve been locked out of my account for 6 days now. I’ve been calling daily, and they keep telling me to go to Enable Cookies | USAA | USAA. I’ve followed every instruction, but the system either asks me to resubmit my ID photos or the server crashes. I’m using the latest iPhone with clear photos, and I’ve tried every angle and background they recommend. Cleared history, cookies, restarted my phone… nothing works. I even drove 35 minutes to the branch, where they took a photo copy for me. But now they’re saying the copy isn’t in color, even though the branch confirmed it was. I just need access to my account because I’m shipping out soon for orders after tech school. If anyone has advice, I’m all ears. I’m exhausted from this whole process.

I’m dealing with the same thing right now. Locked out for no reason. I’ve called twice, and both times they told me to go to USAA’s verification page, but it just doesn’t work. Keeps failing on the photo upload. I want access to my money! Why are they locking us out all of a sudden?

Weird, I’ve been with USAA for 23 years with multiple address changes and never had an issue. Just yesterday, I called about damage from moving out of a rental, and they approved up to $1000 liability coverage in 5 minutes after I uploaded photos.
USAA just isn’t the same anymore. You’re better off with Navy Fed or a good local credit union. I’ve had way too many bad experiences with them. They used to be good, especially for military, but now they’re just like any other big bank, only with worse customer service.
I’ve tried getting help too. USAA basically lost my money because I changed my phone number, and now they won’t let me verify my identity. I didn’t even know they had a physical branch until recently. Luckily, I only lost about $100, but it’s still frustrating.
Update: After 9 months, they finally unlocked my account. If anyone else is locked out, just give them a call instead of dealing with the website. Hope it works for you all!

Hey, sorry for the delay! Still locked out at this point, so I’ve pretty much given up. Switched to Navy Fed, and no issues so far. Even traveled home on leave, and no account lockouts. Honestly, switching was the best choice.
I’m on my dad’s account and trying to get my own now, but they keep saying the same thing over and over. ‘Go to USAA/verify and follow the steps. We’ll get back to you in 1-2 business days.’ It’s been a week, and still no update. I even had to answer questions like, ‘Where does your aunt live?’ or ‘Did you ever own a house in Washington?’ It’s ridiculous. This process has given me so much anxiety.

Spent 2 hours today just trying to become a member. It’s such a joke. Got rerouted several times, and the ID upload system is a nightmare. Save yourself the time and headache.
