USAA banking made a stressful day much better

I’ve been with USAA for 33 years. Recently, I had to cancel my auto insurance because of big rate hikes, but today, I want to talk about how great their banking and credit departments are. My wallet was stolen from my car overnight. I blocked both my debit and credit cards through the app as soon as I noticed. I called USAA, and within minutes, they issued new cards and expedited shipping. Pam in the credit department was especially helpful. Having my car broken into and my wallet stolen was really stressful, but USAA’s quick response made it a lot easier to deal with. Thank you, USAA.

USAA has been good for a lot of things, but I also dropped their car insurance. I found better rates elsewhere. I went with Progressive and saved 50% for the same coverage.

Same here. Progressive saved me $1,300 a year.

@YukiJane
I felt weird switching at first, but paying nearly $400 a month was crazy. Now I even use my Apple Card with 2% cashback for the payments.

Only seven more years until your 40-year discount kicks in.

Not surprising. Wayne mentioned on the news that rates would be going up.

Why are people still leaving wallets or purses in their cars? I hope this was just a one-time mistake. Glad USAA took care of things for you.

Definitely a one-time mistake. My car is usually in the garage, but the door spring broke, so I had to park in the driveway. Locking my car isn’t a habit yet since this is new to me. I messed up.

Next time, make sure to lock your car.

I know. My garage door spring is broken, so I’m parking outside for now. Locking my car hasn’t become a habit yet, and this was the first night I forgot. Lucky me.

@YukiJane
My mom did the same thing once. First time she forgot to lock her car, she got robbed. Her purse had her social security card (don’t ask me why), license, credit cards—everything.

They got all my cards and my license too. Thankfully, I didn’t have my social security card in my wallet.

@YukiJane
That’s good. My mom really shouldn’t have had hers in her purse either.

Hope things get better for you. By the way, who’s Mike?

Thank you. Mike is my dog—the best friend I could ever ask for.

@YukiJane
My mom has a dog too, Nala. She’s 4.5 years old and was never trained. Now she won’t listen unless you have a treat in hand. She ran into traffic last week after escaping the backyard. I told them they should rehome her since it’s probably too late to train her. What do you think?

@Westin
It’s never too late to train a dog. They’re part of the family, and it’s worth the effort to help them be the best they can be. Mike is 13 now, and he’s been an amazing friend.
