i’ve been with unitedhealthcare for a while, and while i like the extra perks, i’ve had trouble getting them to approve some claims. anyone else experiencing this?
i can relate. i have their medicare advantage plan, and they denied a couple of claims. had to call multiple times to get anything resolved. frustrating but their app is convenient for checking benefits.
@Penn
same here. the app is nice, but having to constantly follow up on claims is exhausting.
i don’t mind paying a bit more for their extra benefits, but it’s a hassle when i have to fight for every medical bill. seems like a common problem with them.

it’s definitely a trend. i switched from them for that reason.
i tried unitedhealthcare because their rates looked good, but they denied a routine test my doctor recommended. ended up having to file an appeal.

appealing takes so long too. i went through the process and it still took weeks.
not just claim denials – their phone support is lacking too. multiple calls just to clarify coverage details. makes me think twice about staying with them.

i agree. support could be better. it’s hard to get a straight answer from them.
for anyone considering unitedhealthcare, it’s okay if you don’t mind dealing with denials and following up. otherwise, you might want to look at other options like kaiser or aetna if they’re available.
@Ari
helpful suggestion. i’m looking at kaiser now for that reason.
