I’ve been in underwriting for about 8 years, and a friend of mine, who’s an assistant principal, wants to get into the insurance industry after hearing about my job. They’ve got a business degree and want to switch from education to insurance.
I’m trying to help them figure out how to make the jump and what kinds of roles they should look for. Any advice on how someone with an education background can break into insurance and what positions might be a good fit?
Making the switch from being a school principal to an insurance executive may be a fulfilling career move that makes use of many of your education-related talents.
It will be easier for you to explain complicated insurance products to clients if you can interact with teachers, parents, and staff in an efficient manner.
