I was in a car accident where I got rear-ended, and the other driver took full responsibility. Since I don’t have PIP, I used my health insurance for doctor visits and chiropractor fees. I’ve now reached a settlement, which includes the amount for my treatment. I know about subrogation, but my health insurance provider hasn’t contacted me about paying them back. Should I let them know, or just put the settlement money aside for now?
Hang onto that money for a bit. They may come looking for it, but it can take a while.

Will do. Thanks for the advice!
As someone licensed in insurance, I have to mention that holding on to the settlement without notifying your health insurance could be seen as insurance fraud. It’s a good idea to reach out and discuss it with them.
