I asked my doctor if insurance covers breast milk storage bags, and she wasn’t sure. So, I called my insurance (Aetna) and found out they cover up to 100 bags per month! Just a heads-up to check before buying bags… you might be able to get them for free!
Thanks for the reminder! My insurance covered my pump, and I got it through Aeroflow… they automatically let me know every couple of months when I can get more bags and even replacement parts.
Highly recommend getting your pump through them if you can, they make it so easy. They also offer breastfeeding courses that might be covered, but these count towards the lactation consultant benefit on most insurance plans.

You can still get replacement parts from Aeroflow even if you didn’t buy your pump through them. I did this with my first kid. Just give them a call—they’ll help you out if your insurance allows it.
They even covered parts for my different pumps, including my Willow!

Yes! They just text me when it’s time. I don’t pump that often, so now I have a ton of bags saved up… thinking about using them as snack bags later!
Every month or so, I could request new parts and bags, all covered by insurance. I ended up with more than I needed and shared with others. I did everything through Aeroflow.
My insurance even covers the Calm app, which doesn’t seem related but actually helps a lot!

That’s awesome! I should check if my insurance covers that too, it would be so helpful.
Also check if they cover new pump parts… usually up to 4 per year.
