I moved from MN to NJ last September and bought my first car. My insurance will be canceled on the 29th, but I didn’t receive any email or call until the 18th. I found out a letter I got over 10 days ago was a questionnaire. They asked for more than 10 documents, some of which are hard to get. The title and registration just came from the DMV. Now, other insurance companies can’t give me a quote because I don’t have a full 6-month insurance history. The person who posted this said it might be because a friend in MN added me as a co-signer for insurance. He removed me a few days ago, but other agents can still see the record. My only hope is Progressive, which is checking the registration. If it doesn’t work by Monday, I will have no insurance.
I’m sorry you’re dealing with this
What are the more than 10 documents they are asking for? They usually provide a list of needed documents like two proofs of where you live, vehicle registration, and previous insurance information. Make sure to send everything by midnight on 10/29.
@Toby
You are mostly correct, but they ask for proof of residence for 3 months and I just moved here, so I only have 2 months of bank statements showing my current address.
@Toby
Also, I probably need to mail them everything because I sent many documents by email as they allowed. But they are asking for all of them again after looking at my email.
Try Acceptance Insurance or an insurance broker as a last option.
Most states have a program or fund where you can get insurance if other companies won’t. Call a local independent agent or agency to get a policy.

Thanks, I will try!
I have tried AAA, Allstate, State Farm, and Liberty Mutual. They said I was not eligible, probably because of the reasons I mentioned.

That’s tough, I hope you find a solution.
@Wren
No way I can go without insurance for 6 months.

That’s really difficult, I hope things get better.
