Hi everyone, so my cat has a dental condition of some kind, and i am pretty sure she will require surgery to have a tooth extracted. I scheduled an exam for the 25th, but she needs to be covered before the appointment because I believe some of them don’t cover “pre-existing conditions”. I have been researching Figo; I have heard that it offers several $30, 40 plans that go into effect the day after. Is there anyone who has dealt with this insurance company before? I have never dealt with insurance before, so please tell me which ones are good for dental treatment. The exam cost will be paid for, but the remaining balance is due as soon as I return to work, and I doubt I will be able to pay a vet bill that exceeds $3,000.

Regretfully, I do not believe you would be covered in this circumstance. Your cat is now exhibiting symptoms; pet insurance only pays for newly discovered ailments following any waiting periods.

Apologies, but the 25th is actually her appointment. I looked up and found that there is a 14-day waiting time for Figo illnesses, but I am not sure if dental disease qualifies as one.

Yes, they will claim that since the cat showed symptoms before the insurance policy was in effect, the illness was pre-existing.

Exist any that only require a two-week wait period and do cover pre-existing conditions, Since she was diagnosed before to coverage, I am not sure whether any will pay for surgery after the fact.
