I was misled about my new job… anyone else?

It’s probably one of the new independent broker situations.

I’m wondering that based on replies. It kind of seems like maybe they were hiring temps and not actual employees.

@Finley
Did they represent other companies in addition to this one?

Then walk away.

Doesn’t make sense.

Training has to be paid.
What location has a game room?
The gym in the company’s buildings is free.
More supervisors are better. You may report to one supervisor, but having a department with several supervisors means you have more options if you don’t get along with yours. You can always move to a different section.
Most jobs you have to be ‘on call’ or work specific hours. If this is a phone job, you need to have specific hours for phone coverage. Of course, they might be adjusted with management’s permission.

I can’t comment on the location issue. Were you told you had work-from-home? I know some departments always had training in a different location and then you went to work in your home region.

Make like Brave Sir Robin… and run away!

They removed one of their core principles for a reason.

As some others point out, there is no way this is for a corporate office. This has to be for a different entity. Only way it makes sense.

An entity with a gym and a game room?

Your post doesn’t add up.

‘The education is the payment, and you’ll encounter that a lot.’

You were educated on everything you’ll ever need to know about this company right here.

I just recently went through training for sales, and licensing was all still paid…

It sounds like the recruiters lied to you to find another body. When you decide to leave, I wouldn’t bother to give them two weeks’ notice. Just don’t show up one day, and when they call, you can tell them that you found a better opportunity with a professional corporation.

@LunarLegend
I think you’re right. I honestly feel like they said complete opposite things when hiring me, and then it’s different when there, so either it’s actually a temp position or they just want bodies.
