How much is insurance for a Lamborghini... anyone know?

So I was looking into insurance for a Lamborghini, and it’s way more expensive than for normal cars. Like, $5,424 to $7,949 a year depending on the model. Anyone else surprised by this? I thought it would be expensive, but that’s a lot. Any tips to get it lower?

Yeah, it’s super high. My friend had a Murciélago, and his insurance was close to $5.5k a year. These cars aren’t cheap to insure lol.

For real! My insurance on a normal car is only like $1.5k. It’s wild to think of paying $5k+ a year.

@Adrian
Right? And if you’re younger, it’s even worse. I heard for someone in their teens, it could be like $17k per year.

It depends on the model too. Aventador insurance is like $7,949, but if you get a Gallardo, it’s closer to $5,424.

Wait, so just by picking a different model, you can save a couple thousand? Makes sense, but still seems pricey.

@Jamie
Yep, exactly. The more expensive the car, the higher the insurance. Collector insurance might be cheaper though, by like 44% compared to standard insurance.

If you’re not driving it much, that helps too. Insurance rates go down if you’re only driving a few thousand miles a year.

Oh, good to know. I wouldn’t drive a Lambo every day anyway lol. I’d probably only take it out on weekends.

Some companies won’t even insure Lamborghinis. You might have to go with a collector car insurance policy if you can’t find coverage from a regular insurer.

That makes sense. I guess because they’re more expensive to fix or replace if something happens?

@Hollis
Exactly. Repairs are super pricey, so insurance companies don’t want to take the risk unless they charge a lot for coverage.

Has anyone actually found an insurance company that’s cheaper for Lambos? I heard some companies don’t even offer quotes online.

State Farm and Farmers do quotes online, but a lot of others don’t. It’s definitely a pain to shop around for insurance on these cars.

@Zorion
Good to know. I’ll check them out. Maybe collector insurance is the way to go though.
