How can I cancel auto insurance while deployed?

I’m deployed right now and can’t make calls because my phone service, Google Fi, doesn’t cover this country. Is there seriously no way for me to cancel my insurance for the next 9 months? It’s pretty frustrating, especially for a credit union aimed at military members.

And no, I’m not interested in putting my car on storage insurance. I’m switching to another company that’s charging me $140 less per month.

Have you tried logging into the website to cancel it there?

Use the chat feature. Even if the system tells you to call, a live agent can cancel it for you. Look for any option related to ‘deployment’ or ‘moving’ to get through to someone. They might have to transfer you, but it’s possible to cancel this way.

There’s a chat option and an upload option in the app. They also provide a mailing address.

Mail here only gets picked up every 8 weeks, and then who knows how long it’ll take to reach the US. Also, if you mean the ‘chat’ option in the app, I tried that. Clicking ‘cancel my auto insurance’ just shows a bunch of paragraphs trying to talk me out of it and then gives me a phone number to call, which it says is the only way to cancel.

@Logan
Oh, I meant chat, not chart—my bad.

Edit: Maybe try selecting a different chat option until you reach a representative.

Can you use a landline?

Your mail is picked up every 2 months? Where are you stationed?
