Help Needed – Insurance and Repair Issues After May 2024 Accident

How is your day…

I’m super frustrated and could really use some help.
I got into a minor car accident in Florida during the first week of May 2024. It was the other driver’s fault, so I filed a claim with their insurance to cover the repairs. I didn’t get the first check until mid-July, and then I dropped my car off at the dealership on July 22nd. They finished the repairs after 3 weeks, but now they’re saying they can’t give me my car back until they get another $1600 for extra damages.
:relieved:
We’ve been chasing the insurance company for weeks, and it was only after my lawyer got involved that they finally sent the second check. But, after 5 weeks of waiting, I found out they only sent $900of the $1600 I need. Now, after 6 weeks without my car, the dealership is telling me I need to pay the remaining $700 myself, which I just can’t do.
I’ve missed work because I don’t have a rental or loaner car, and I really don’t want to wait another 2 weeks, which would make it 2 months without my car. The adjuster we’re dealing with never answers or returns calls.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do next? I’m at my breaking point and would really appreciate any tips.

Iam looking up for ur response,

If you were at fault, premiums can increase by almost 45% on average1. Certain insurers may increase your premiums even if you weren’t at fault.
:smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Depending on your area and insurance, accidents usually remain on your record for three to five years.

The threshold for classifying an automobile as a total loss has grown due to rising automotive costs. This indicates that a greater number of cars are being fixed rather than totaled.

Modern cars with cutting-edge technology cost more to fix, which increases the expense of filing claims and extends repair timelines :unamused:

:face_with_peeking_eye: To be sure you’re receiving a fair price, compare estimates from other repair businesses.

Repair insurance might be a wise choice if your car is older or not covered by warranty in order to cover any future mechanical problems.
