Good sites to compare auto insurance rates without the spam?

I’m looking for insurance quotes but don’t want to be overwhelmed with calls and emails after entering my info on one of those ‘find the best rate’ sites. Are there any comparison sites that don’t ask for all my personal details like name, phone, and email?

Or would I still get decent estimates if I used some made-up info for the name and contact details but kept everything accurate on things like age, car details, zip code, etc.?

Try reaching out to a local independent insurance agent.

I did that, and my agent just okayed a big rate hike with no questions asked. They claimed it was the best deal, but when I checked online, Progressive offered me $900 less for similar coverage.

@Shan
That’s not surprising. Some agents just push the policies with the highest commissions. My old boss used to do the same, only showing the plans with the highest payout for us.

@Shan
Totally believe it.

How can I find a good independent agent? I keep searching but it’s confusing.

Honestly, I’d start by asking friends or checking local reviews.

Totally agree. Personal recommendations help avoid the runaround.

Anyone else tired of these companies acting like they’re doing you a favor while just collecting your data?

I tried one of those sites and immediately regretted it. Got spammed like crazy.

Happened to me too. Learned my lesson!

For big names, it’s hard to avoid spam. But try a local independent agent; they can give you quotes from multiple companies without you paying them directly. Once you have those quotes, you can compare them to what you get from the big direct companies to see if there’s a good deal.

@Harlow
How exactly does that work? Just Google for agents in my area?

Yep! Just search ‘independent auto insurance agency near me,’ check their websites to see what companies they work with, and give them a call. They’ll ask you some questions and provide a quote.

@Harlow
Thanks! Will give it a shot.

@Harlow
Just Googled it myself! Thanks, I didn’t want the spam either!

@Harlow
Are they really unbiased if they’re paid by the insurance companies?

The agency I worked for aimed to offer the best coverage and price because keeping customers happy was more important for us than pushing a specific company. While some agents might favor one provider, it’s not super common. They want your trust.

@Harlow
Not all agents operate that way, though.

I also recommend finding a local agent. Or go directly to the main insurance sites like Progressive or Geico and fill out a quote with accurate info. This way, they won’t pass your details around. Avoid those third-party comparison sites if you want to skip the spam.
