i’ve been hearing a lot lately about geico’s customer service getting worse. i’m curious if it’s really as bad as people say… anyone have experience with them?
customer service can be hit or miss. i work as an adjuster for geico, and i know there are some of us who go above and beyond, but others… not so much. i’d say they’re generally pretty generous with paying claims, even sometimes when they technically don’t have to. but i do see a lot of upset customers who don’t fully understand their coverage, which leads to frustrations.
@Dru
i work for a competitor, and yeah, it’s all about the rep you get. if you’re lucky, you’ll think the company’s great. otherwise, you might have a rough experience.

disagree. geico’s gone downhill ever since they changed leadership. you get what you pay for.
@Lin
agree, they’re dealing with lawsuits, even from their own employees.
@Dru
people often forget to go through their own insurance for claims, then get frustrated dealing with the other company. always go through your carrier.
@Dru
i once got a voicemail from a geico rep that sounded like they were working from home with a tv blaring in the background… not very professional.
i used to work at geico. they were efficient and fair back then, but the new ceo has made some cuts that are affecting service. i left and took my policy with me.

i looked at adjuster jobs there, but no work-from-home options?
@Wei
i’m working from home as an adjuster there now, at least one day a week.
depends on where you are and what coverage you have. they’ve always been affordable for me and replaced my windshield multiple times without hassle.

some companies are even worse, believe it or not.
geico is like the walmart of insurance… cheap but at a cost.

honestly, i’ll pay a little more to avoid the hassle. it’s not worth switching for a few bucks.
they treated me well when my car was totaled. super quick and fair.
i’ve had two claims with them, both handled smoothly.
