Has anyone here used Fetch insurance? I had my last dog with Trupanion but I’m looking to switch for this new pup. I’m curious how Fetch handles claims. I’m currently trying out Pets Plus Us, but Fetch is about $40 cheaper per month. I heard there’s a Costco deal for Pets Plus Us, but I’m still undecided. Would love to hear what you think!
It’s pretty bad, to be honest. They’ll label anything and everything as a pre-existing condition. For example, my puppy had diarrhea at 8 weeks (common when switching foods in shelters), and now, if diarrhea is ever a symptom again, they won’t cover it.
Also, they make you pay the co-pay before your deductible, so the deductible ends up being higher than you think. It takes ages to get a claim processed, and their customer service is just terrible. Feels like a scam to me.

Oh, that sounds horrible! Maybe I should stick with Pets Plus Us even if it’s more expensive.

Honestly, yeah. I’d switch too if I hadn’t already met my deductible. I’m definitely switching once it resets.
I’ve had Fetch for a while now, and it’s been okay. I’ve submitted a few claims without any major issues. The app is easy to use, and it doesn’t take long to submit a new claim. But I’ll admit they take forever to approve anything. I usually just use my line of credit in the meantime, so the delay doesn’t bother me too much. If you need fast claim processing, though, you might want to keep looking.
@Ezra
Thanks for your feedback! I guess I’ll keep exploring my options. I had everything on autopilot with Trupanion, but I really hated how they handled things when my last dog had health issues in her later years.
