Today, we received a notice stating that our auto insurance will be canceled on January 1, 2024, because Farmers Insurance will no longer offer coverage in California. The notice also mentioned that as Group Select customers, we would receive a quote for new insurance with Farmers.
We live in the Central Valley, which is not considered a high-risk area. I called the number provided in the notice and was informed that our house and umbrella policies would also be canceled. The quote for new insurance will come from the “original” Farmers Insurance company but will not be available for a few weeks.
The existence of two Farmers Insurance companies seems odd, and I’m concerned about how much the new coverage might cost. Does anyone have insights into this situation?
