Dealing with Multiple Car Insurance Claims

hey all, i’ve filed a couple of claims recently and my premiums have gone up a lot. i’m worried about my policy being canceled. does anyone have tips on managing multiple claims or advice on finding affordable coverage?

filing multiple claims definitely increases premiums. after my second claim, i started comparing quotes every 6 months to find better rates. checking smaller companies or those that specialize in high-risk drivers can help too.

@Terryann
thanks for the advice! did you notice a big difference in rates by switching?

yeah, i saved a bit by switching to a smaller regional provider. not as many perks as the bigger companies but worth it to keep premiums manageable.

if you have a cheaper car, consider dropping collision or comprehensive coverage. it saved me a lot since my car’s value was low.

good idea! i’ll have to check if my car’s worth it for full coverage.

another thing is to avoid filing claims if the damage is minor. i found that small repairs can sometimes be cheaper than the premium increase.

makes sense. i’ll try to be more selective with future claims.

some insurers offer accident forgiveness which can help if you’re likely to have more claims. might be worth looking into if it’s available.

i’ll check if my current insurer offers that. thanks!

raising your deductible can also help lower premiums. it means you’ll pay more out of pocket, but it keeps the monthly cost down.
