So I’ve been looking into Chesapeake Canerwise Insurance and their BBB rating, but IDK if they’re really trustworthy. Anyone else heard of them? I found a review that talks about their services, but what’s the real deal? Do they actually help with claims or what?
I’ve checked them out before… They’ve been around for a bit and offer the usual insurance stuff—auto, home, life, you know. But yeah, the BBB thing is interesting. I think they’re accredited, right?

Yeah, they are. Their BBB rating is decent, but I saw some complaints about slow claims processing. Like, people were mad that it took too long to get their money back.
@Ezri
What’s BBB exactly? I’ve heard of it, but is it a big deal for insurance companies?

BBB stands for Better Business Bureau. It’s basically like a place where companies get rated based on how well they handle customer complaints. If a company is accredited, it means they’re committed to solving issues, so it’s kinda important.

Yeah, and it’s good for checking how companies handle stuff like refunds or disputes. But don’t rely only on BBB—look at customer reviews too.
I had Chesapeake for my home insurance a couple of years ago. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed. They’re okay, but their claims process was slow, like XYZ said. Took weeks to get it sorted.

Same here! My claim for storm damage took forever… I had to call them so many times to get updates.
@Jade
Ugh, yeah, same story with me. I was stuck waiting for ages too. Wish I knew before signing up.
I think you need to check more than just the BBB stuff. They might be good in one area, but terrible in another. Compare their ratings to other companies before deciding.

Agreed. Also, keep an eye on their pricing and what they actually cover. I went with another company because Chesapeake’s premiums were too high for me.
Has anyone looked into how they stack up against competitors? I’m trying to decide between them and another company.

Chesapeake is decent, but I found their competitors had better customer service. You could try looking at Nationwide or Allstate—they had higher ratings on BBB when I checked.
I think people should do their own research before signing up for any insurance company. BBB is a good starting point, but don’t rely on just that. Look at customer feedback and how the company handles issues.
