looking for advice on the best car insurance in nj. i’ve seen that njm, state farm, and geico have good rates, but curious about which offers the best mix of coverage and service. anyone have experience with these or others?
i went with njm and am really happy with it. they have great customer service and their rates were better than a lot of others i checked out. plus, they sometimes pay dividends to policyholders.

that’s good to hear! do they cover full coverage options too?
@Bailey
yes, they offer full coverage and their rates are pretty affordable for it compared to others.
if you’re looking for the cheapest option, geico has been pretty solid for me. i’m paying around $126 a month for full coverage. but their customer service can be hit or miss depending on who you get.

that’s a great rate! how’s their claim process?
@Zion
haven’t had to file a claim yet, but reviews seem mixed. worth keeping in mind.
if you have teens on your policy, definitely check state farm. it’s still expensive but better than most in nj for young drivers. i also heard they offer discounts for defensive driving courses.

i second this! i added my 17-year-old and it saved us a bit. also ask about good student discounts if they apply.
i had to switch from the basic policy to standard. while it’s more expensive, it has better coverage options. basic policy in nj is very limited if you need good liability coverage.

good point, i learned the hard way! standard policy gives peace of mind even if it costs a bit more.
