Has anyone here had any experience with National General (NatGen Premier) auto policies? I’ve been reading reviews on BBB and WalletHub, and it doesn’t look great.
I’m moving to Nevada, which already has high insurance costs. Unfortunately, the big names won’t cover me because I’ve had two non-fault uninsured motorist claims and a non-fault accident in the past three years.
National General seems to be the only full coverage option I can afford. I got a quote from an agency for an auto and renters policy for 12 months at $5,000. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?
I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with National General’s claims department. They make it super hard to file a claim and get compensated for rentals or damages.

Yep, same here. Worst claims department I’ve ever dealt with.

They left my new car in the impound lot for 5 weeks. By the time I found out, my car was sold. Now I’m stuck making payments on a car I don’t even have. Avoid them at all costs!

I had a bad experience too. They refused to cover my claim for no reason. Any recommendations on what I should do?
@Barrett
Ask to speak to the manager and be firm. Let them know you’re contacting the Better Business Bureau. Go ahead and reach out to the BBB and get a name of who you talked to, to show them you’re serious.

Same here. It took 2-3 weeks to get any response from my claims adjuster, supervisor, or appraiser. Once I filed a complaint with the bureau of insurance, I got a call back, but it was the same thing after that. The claims adjuster was rude and unprofessional, sounded like he was lying down on a speakerphone, and got frustrated when I asked him to repeat something. Eventually, he just hung up on me.

I had a similar issue two years ago. My car sat in my driveway for a month, and I had to fix it myself. The adjuster was awful, and they didn’t care about my situation. I ended up leaving National General and found a better deal elsewhere.

They made me pay my deductible out of pocket before finishing my claim. Aren’t they supposed to take that out of the settlement? I don’t know any other insurance company that does that.

They’re owned by Allstate now, and honestly, it’s not worth the money.

National General dropped me after an accident because I didn’t notify them I got married. They took my money for years, then dropped me when I needed them most. It’s a scam.
National General denied my hit-and-run claim even with police reports and 911 calls backing it up. It’s been seven weeks, and they haven’t even inspected my car. If anyone else has had this issue, let’s join forces and take this to the press. DM me if you’re interested in holding them accountable.
@Dell
I had a similar experience. I tried to fire my claims adjuster after they kept using parts from other damaged cars instead of new ones to fix mine. It was a nightmare.
