Anyone tried the aetna fitness allowance …?

@Rin
i see a potential lawsuit coming. anyone know a lawyer who’s handled cases against insurance companies? seems like they pulled a bait-and-switch on us.

i asked if they cover these:

  • three season sleeping bag
  • self-inflating air mattress
  • hiking backpack
  • trekking poles
  • hydration bladder
  • water filter
  • trail stool
  • camping stove

no clear list, though. just says to look at page 52 of the evidence of coverage. thinking of trying one item, if they cover it, great, if not, i’ll just return it.

@Neo
internal reps have an updated list so call and ask about specific items. if they’re unsure, ask them to submit it for review.

same here, denied. asked for the full list of what’s covered and got nothing. the rep didn’t seem to know about bikes either. i’m thinking of switching to a different company.

what did they deny for you? i thought bikes would be covered.

yes, bikes are covered, but not electric ones.

@Blair
doesn’t make sense that helmets aren’t covered. they just denied my running shoes.

they might get in trouble for this eventually. too bad it won’t help us now.
