Anyone know the cheapest car insurance in california?

Hey everyone, I’m looking for affordable car insurance options here in California. Has anyone found a good deal? I’ve heard Geico and Mercury are pretty cheap, but would love some real opinions. Anyone know which is better?

I went with Geico, and it’s been decent. I’m paying around $124 a month for full coverage. Honestly, I was surprised it was that cheap.

That’s pretty good. I was quoted more than that with Mercury… maybe Geico’s worth another look.

I think Geico’s online-only in California now, but the rates are still low. Definitely worth considering if you’re comfortable with online service.

Mercury worked well for me after an accident last year. They charged me around $211 monthly for full coverage, which was way less than other companies quoted.

Good to know, especially if rates go up after an accident. I’ll keep Mercury in mind.

State Farm’s good for younger drivers. They quoted my cousin around $100 for liability only, which isn’t bad for a new driver.

That’s interesting. Do you know if they offer discounts for students or new drivers?

If you don’t drive much, you might want to check out AAA. They’ve got decent rates if you’re in Northern California.

I heard AAA has different rates for Northern and Southern California. Worth looking into for sure.

Anyone know if rates are going up next year? I read something about new insurance requirements.

Yeah, I think the minimum coverage requirements are changing in 2025, so rates might increase a bit.
