Hi everyone… I’m in the middle of job interviews, and this will really affect if my spouse can stay home with the kids. Money is pretty tight right now. Does anyone know how much family health insurance usually costs? I’d probably need one of the more expensive plans since we have a few medical needs.
Ours is $400 every two weeks, and doctor visits are $900 each. The deductible is $2,500… They really ruined the health insurance plan last year.
It really depends on where you are and which plan you pick. But just to give you a rough idea, expect something around $400 every two weeks.

Thanks! That helps a lot. I’ve seen prices as low as $200 and as high as $600, so this gives me a good range to work with.
You’re already making a mistake by talking about insurance during interviews. Just skip the process and find another job that offers better insurance.
If you need more medical care than usual, keep in mind that copays are often high, especially for specialists. The deductibles aren’t small either.

$25 for a regular doctor and $50 for a specialist isn’t really that high these days. And a $1,000 deductible isn’t too bad either.
Could things be better? Sure. But this is still not as bad as some plans I’ve seen. Cigna’s lower-tier plan is under $200 every two weeks.
@Caden
Yeah, my specialist copays have been going up every year… They were $60, then $65 the last five years. Even though $50 isn’t cheap, I’m actually saving about $15 a month since I see a specialist once a month.
