I’ve been looking into life insurance lately, and I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth it or not. I mean, there are benefits like financial protection for the family, but I’m still on the fence. Anyone have thoughts on this?
I totally get what you’re saying. For me, the peace of mind alone made it worth it. Knowing my family won’t have to worry if something happens to me helps me sleep better at night.

Yeah, I feel the same. Plus, the fact that it can help with ongoing expenses like rent or mortgage makes it a no-brainer for some people.

Good point. I didn’t really consider how it could help with daily expenses if something happens to me. Do you think the decreasing type is better for that?
@Vann
Decreasing life insurance is good if you’re mainly looking to cover a mortgage, since the payout goes down over time, like your mortgage balance. If you’re looking for more general coverage, you might want level cover instead.
@Vann
Thanks, that makes sense. I think I’ll need to look into both options before deciding.
One thing I didn’t think about before getting life insurance was how much it could help with school fees and other stuff for the kids if I passed away. It’s not just about the mortgage.

Exactly. I got mine mainly because I wanted to make sure my kids would be covered for their education if something happened to me.

Yeah, that was a big factor for me too. The whole ‘peace of mind’ thing is real.
I’m single, so I wasn’t sure if I needed life insurance. But after thinking about it, I figured it could still be useful to help cover any debts or funeral costs. Anyone else in the same boat?

I’m in the same situation. I don’t have kids or anything, but I figured it’s worth having something in place to help out my parents with any expenses if I die.
Has anyone here added Critical Illness Cover to their policy? I’m considering it but not sure if it’s necessary.

I added it just for extra peace of mind. It can be useful if you get diagnosed with a serious illness and need some financial help while recovering.

Good to know. I think I might add it just to be safe.
