USAA banking is just… bad.
Their insurance billing system is a mess. Paid my premium upfront, but it kept saying I had a balance due. Customer service just told me to ignore it. What kind of system is that?
Why didn’t you just use the app for the wire transfer? If it’s under $10,000, you don’t need to call.
Why even call? You can wire money straight from the app—unless you don’t have a valid US number.

I tried, but my US number still isn’t showing up in their system, even though I added it almost a month ago. I work overseas, so I was using a VOIP number before, but now I have a US number and it STILL isn’t working.
Every rep I talk to gives me a different answer about why. Feels like they changed something recently but won’t admit it.

They’ve added a ‘gatekeeper’ when you call. First person just handles simple stuff, then transfers you if it’s more complicated. Problem is, the first person doesn’t know what they’re doing, and I don’t have the patience to explain it to them.
Seems like a lot of people here are just looking for a reason to leave. I’ve been with USAA for 25 years and never had a bad experience.
This forum tends to focus on the negative, and people love to pile on. USAA might not be perfect, but they’re still one of the best all-in-one options for banking, loans, and insurance.

I get that some people have had good experiences, but for me, the quality has dropped. Wire transfer issues, customer service giving different answers—it’s frustrating.
Also, isn’t this forum about sharing experiences, good or bad? People vent because they want solutions, not just to complain.
@Piper
Are you saying they’re top 5 as a full package, or top 5 in each category?
