Anyone else feeling stuck? Any tips?

I’ve applied to so many companies… CSAA, NYCM, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, Allstate, Erie Insurance, National General, etc. But I’ve only had two interviews and the rest were automatic rejections. It’s tough, especially when companies say I’m not qualified. I know interviews aren’t my strong point, but when I’m highly qualified and get rejections, it’s discouraging. I’ve got 4+ years of claims experience and a bachelor’s degree. Does anyone have advice or know of companies hiring? I’m really struggling right now… help?

Progressive interviews use the STAR method. You should definitely look up examples online and practice. You have to appear confident, especially for video interviews. Progressive hires often, so don’t let them discourage you. If you get the STAR format down, you’ll do well. They shouldn’t be telling you you’re unqualified. Try checking auto and commercial roles too!

@Aubrey
I’ve studied it, but they always throw in questions I’m not ready for. It’s hard to stay motivated when I know I’m qualified but then see the same job posted right after I interviewed for it. They won’t even let me apply again for six months now…

@Shan
It’s not just Progressive using STAR. You should try to remember the questions they ask and come up with different answers based on real-life experiences. Practice saying them out loud too! Interviewing gets easier with more practice.

Same here. It’s been 4 months without work now. 11 years in AD, and I still get rejections. I can take it if I mess up an interview, but the automated rejections from algorithms saying I’m not qualified? That’s a real punch to the gut.

Ugh, I feel for you. That’s really rough. Best of luck with your job search!

I’ve been denied so many times, even after what felt like a great interview. It was so discouraging, but my dislike for the company kept me going. There were days I cried from frustration, but after a few rejections, I reapplied to the same company and finally got hired. My point is: don’t give up! Something will work out.

@Linden
Thanks for sharing your story and congratulations! Where are you now?

Same here. It’s so frustrating. :cry::cry::cry::cry:

Same to you. Stay strong!

I’ve applied to them all too. Now, I’m thinking about switching careers entirely. I’m even considering a job at half my current salary. I’m just so worn out from all of this.

That’s really tough, I’m sorry! Wishing you all the best in whatever you decide to do!

I got hired at CSAA after quitting Geico. Then two of my friends tried applying, but they failed the personality test. I helped one of them with it, and she still didn’t pass. I was so surprised I made it through. One of my other friends got the rejection email at 3 a.m. They’re definitely using AI to filter through the tests.

@Zion
It’s so frustrating. I also got an AI rejection from CSAA for PIP.

Same thing here.

Thanks! I’m finally starting to get a few interviews, but no luck so far. I’ve been applying on and off for the last year or two. I don’t get it, though. I’ve got 15 years in the field and 10 in claims. I’ve applied to both big and small companies. Oh well, hopefully, you find something soon!

@Brady
That’s not very encouraging, but I appreciate you sharing. Best of luck to you too!

Who knows what strange criteria the AI uses to decide these things. It’s so frustrating.
