I’ve been looking into pet insurance here in Texas and noticed Lemonade seems to be a top pick, but I’m wondering if anyone has tried any other providers? I’ve got an older dog, so I need something that covers a lot, but isn’t crazy expensive. Any thoughts on what’s worked for y’all?
I’m using ASPCA Pet Insurance, and it’s been great for my senior dog. They don’t reduce benefits for older pets, which is why I went with them. Plus, it’s pretty affordable.

I’ve heard ASPCA is good for older pets. Have you had to file any claims yet?
@Neve
Yeah, once for an ear infection. They processed it pretty quickly and covered most of the cost. I was pleasantly surprised.
We’ve got Embrace for our two dogs, and it’s been worth every penny. They give a discount for multiple pets, which helps a lot, and their customer service is solid.

That sounds like a good option. Does the discount make a big difference with two dogs?
@Riley
It really does! We save about 20%, which adds up when you’re covering multiple pets. Plus, their wellness add-ons are helpful if your dogs need regular check-ups.
@Riley
I’ve got Embrace too, and the wellness coverage has been a lifesaver for the regular vet visits. It’s definitely saved us money over the years.
I’m considering Spot because of how customizable it is. You can adjust the coverage limits and deductibles to fit your budget, which is great if you’re looking for specific coverage.

I went with Spot for that exact reason. I liked being able to tweak the policy to get what I needed without overpaying for stuff I didn’t care about.
@Emerson
How’s the claims process been for you so far?

It’s been smooth. I filed a claim for an emergency visit when my dog ate something he shouldn’t have, and they reimbursed me within a couple of weeks.
I’ve got Healthy Paws for my French bulldog, and it’s been great, especially for the peace of mind knowing there’s no cap on what they’ll pay out. It’s not the cheapest, but for unlimited coverage, it’s worth it.
@Storm
That unlimited coverage does sound nice. Have you had to use it for any big claims?

Yeah, we had a big vet bill last year for surgery, and they covered almost all of it. I didn’t have to worry about hitting a limit, which was a relief.
I went with Lemonade for my cat. They’re reasonably priced and cover everything I need. Haven’t had to file any claims yet, but so far, I’m happy with what they offer.

Lemonade was at the top of my list. Good to know you’re satisfied with it so far. I’m leaning toward giving them a shot.
