Wondering what happens when you try to cancel pet insurance?

Can they be used for a kitten that will require numerous vaccinations and surgery, and then cancelled once the procedure is completed? It is not a pre-existing illness.

Hello @taylor ok, It is just a phone call, but the agent will want to keep you by explaining the advantages of continuing coverage, lowering rates, etc. There is a chance that this surgical condition will be considered pre-existing and not be covered if the cat needed additional care.

In that instance, if you later obtained coverage, you would not need to worry about pre-existing problems. It is important to remember, though, that most insurance policies cover sickness and accidents rather than preventive treatment like vaccinations and spay/neuter procedures. Certain plans include extra wellness care, including reimbursement for particular treatments up to predetermined maximums.
