Why does it feel like this company doesn’t get it? This is the time to reward employees, not use it as an excuse to push people out or group them into the bottom quartile. Why is there so much focus on not rewarding associates? The numbers aren’t even right on the dashboards. We’ve been through 12 quarters of endless changes, including cuts, terminations, retirement changes, and still, they want to cut more people. No one’s moving up, and entire departments are still getting downsized. Are the people at the top just that bad at their jobs? There’s no backup or support for critical operations.
I’ve been here for 17 years and never felt so unsure about my job. Every week feels like I might be let go. I used to be a top performer, even in the chairman’s club, and now it feels like nothing’s changed in my performance.
@Blayne
You might be right. 30 years didn’t mean anything to them.
There’s no upward movement because they’re hiring outside people for almost every role now. In the past, we had opportunities to move up, but now whole teams are filled by external hires. The three VPs who were let go last week had less than a year at the company. Why is that?
@Pax
To be fair, they already let all the experienced VPs go a few years ago.
@Pax
Where did this happen? It’s strange that they let go of 3 VPs.

All of them were in IT.
The company has reduced its staff by 40-50%, but they’ve posted record profits. Still, there’s no sign of improvement, and it feels like they’re just trying to squeeze the last bit of life out of this company.
Well said.
I applied to GEICO auto once, and they contacted me so quickly, even offering an interview the next day. That made me decide to turn them down.

Honest question though, why are you still posting here if you had that experience? I see a lot of people who have worked at GEICO or applied and still post here. Why stick around?
@Sam
I just love watching the company crash and burn.

Lol, it feels good knowing you made the right choice by turning them down.
@Sam
GEICO really knows how to make enemies everywhere. Whether it’s customers, job applicants, employees, or contractors, everyone seems to hate them. I can’t recall the last time I heard anything good about them.
I wonder how many people will be let go after this round of reviews. Is it happening in all departments?
Has anyone gotten their merit increases yet? If so, what percentage did you get, and did you get a bonus too? We’re supposed to find out next Wednesday, but I heard some people already have their results.
@Ashby
No one knows yet. Workday hasn’t been updated, and the new salary schedules haven’t been posted.

Got it, thanks for the update!
@Ashby
0-3%. It doesn’t look good this year.
