Why bother filing claims if it just raises your premiums?

Filing a claim for a small amount was a mistake. You’ll know better next time.

I filed a claim with USAA for $70,000 and my premium only went up by $300. Small claims hurt more percentage-wise.

Self-insuring small losses is the way to go these days if you can afford it.

Funny enough, that’s how USAA started—self-insurance for military officers.

USAA used to be great, but now it’s awful. They wanted to charge me $200 more per month to add a new car. I switched to Progressive and saved $1,300 a year.
