What's the best home insurance in Texas for 2024?

I’ve been looking into home insurance for 2024 and it seems like Chubb and Amica are among the top picks. Anyone else in Texas have experience with these companies? Or are there better options out there? I’m mainly looking for great coverage and good service.

Yeah, I’ve heard good things about both. Amica’s customer service is supposed to be really good, but I went with State Farm because they gave me better rates. Might be worth checking them out!

Same here! State Farm’s rates were a lot better for me too, and they’ve been solid whenever I’ve needed them. :+1:

Good to know! I’ve been with Amica for a few years, and they’ve been awesome, but I might look into State Farm if my rates go up.

I went with USAA, but it’s only for military families. Their coverage is pretty solid and I got a discount for bundling it with my auto insurance.

Yeah, USAA is awesome! They cover things like personal belongings at replacement cost, which is a nice perk.

@Devi
Oh, that’s a good deal. I wish I was eligible for USAA, but I might stick with Farmers for now.

Has anyone tried Chubb? They seem to cater more to high-value homes, which makes me think they might be pricier. But their perks sound nice.

Chubb’s definitely for higher-end homes, but they do offer great coverage for things like sewer backups and wildfire services. It’s probably worth it if you have a big house or live in a high-risk area.

@Conley
Good to know! I’m not in a high-risk area, so maybe I’ll stick with Amica for now. But Chubb sounds great for people who need the extra coverage.

I’m with Farmers, and they’ve been really good to me. They offer some nice add-ons like diminishing deductibles and claims forgiveness. Might be worth checking out if you like those kinds of perks.

Farmers has been good for me too. The diminishing deductible is a cool feature, especially since I’ve been claim-free for a while.

I’ve heard Nationwide is pretty good too, especially if you want coverage options like identity theft or sewer backups. Anyone have experience with them?

I used Nationwide for a few years before switching to Travelers. They were solid, but I got a better deal with Travelers for the same coverage.
