Goodevening…
I’m dealing with a bit of a headache and could really use some advice. Over the summer, my son’s car got wrecked by hail. It’s still running fine but looks pretty beat up. Since we’re in Colorado and hail damage doesn’t mean it needs a salvage title, we decided to keep the car.
At the time, we still owed $3K on it, but the insurance payout took care of that, and the credit union was paid off. Here’s where it gets messy: instead of sending the title to us (because we kept the car), the credit union sent it to the insurance company by mistake. I called the insurance company, and they admitted they should’ve sent it to us instead.
Now for the really annoying part—insurance says they might’ve sent the title to the salvage company, but they can’t find it now. I’ve been trying to get in touch with the salvage company, but they’re ghosting me.Has anyone dealt with this kind of thing before? How do I get the title back, or what should I do next? Any advice is appreciated!
Best wishes…
