I’ve been considering switching to American Collectors Insurance for my classic car. Their reviews seem fantastic, but I’d like to hear from others who’ve used them. How’s their customer service and claims process?
I’ve been with them for about three years now. Their customer service is top-notch. Every time I call, I get a real person, and they actually seem to care about my concerns.

That’s good to hear. How are their rates compared to other companies? I’m currently with Hagerty, and they’re decent, but I’m open to switching.
@Sunny
I switched from Hagerty too. Saved about 20% on my premium, and I think the coverage is better. Definitely worth getting a quote.

How’s their claims process? Have you had to file any?
@Addison
Yes, I filed a claim last year for a minor accident. It was super smooth. They handled everything quickly, and I had my payout in a week.
I just insured my ‘65 Mustang with them. The process was incredibly easy, and my agent, Tammy, walked me through every step. Highly recommend!

Did you have to do anything special for the agreed value policy? I’m trying to figure out how that works.
@Jamie
You just need to provide photos and a valuation if you have one. They were very flexible and made it simple to set the agreed value.

Do they have restrictions on mileage? That’s a dealbreaker for me with some companies.
@Kellen
They’re pretty flexible. You can choose a mileage limit that fits your needs, and it affects the price a bit. I went with a lower limit since I don’t drive my Mustang often.
I’ve been with them for 10 years, and I can’t imagine switching. Their reps are always professional, and they go above and beyond.

That’s awesome. Have you noticed any big price hikes over the years?
@Marlow
A little, but nothing unreasonable. They’re good about explaining why, like inflation or adjustments to the agreed value.
I just switched to them last month, and their agent, Amy, was fantastic. She saved me $400 compared to my old policy.

That’s a huge saving! Did you switch from a mainstream provider, or another collector insurance company?
@Paxton
I switched from a regular auto insurer. They didn’t understand the value of classic cars, so this has been a big upgrade.
Their customer service is great, but I found the number of emails they send a bit overwhelming. Does anyone else feel that way?

Yeah, I noticed that too. They send a lot of updates, but I guess it’s better than being left in the dark.
@Zhen
True, but I wish they’d consolidate them more. Seven emails for one process feels excessive.
