Should I stay with GEICO or look for another insurance company?

Unpopular opinion. I like GEICO. I enjoy coming to work every day.

I’m in ICS. I’m aware of GEICO’s faults, but I’ve worked at worse places. Lol

:technologist:t2: just my 2 cents. A job isn’t for everyone, nor is it like staying at a luxury hotel. It’s work. But I don’t mind GEICO, I even like it. Good luck buddy :grin:

Like wishing someone hated their job as much as you do is really crazy. It makes me doubt this forum. I don’t need utensils to feel like my job is worth going to. Especially a job that hires with no experience. Yes, yes… ‘you gotta wonder why though’. But experience is valuable. I’ve earned many certificates for great fields and had to stop because no one wanted to hire a beginner.

To anyone reading this (for entry level positions), if you think it’s easy to land a job just because GEICO called you back quickly… it’s not.

@Coop
I also like my job, graduated a year ago, worked in the hotels niche.

It’s the wrong time to say so. I kind of know that too, so I don’t blame them.

Does plastic ware mean something other than disposable spoons and forks? It can’t just mean landfill garbage, right?

It wasn’t about the utensils. It was about the responses from the two people who agreed with what everyone is saying.

It only takes that one thing to make you quit :woman_shrugging:

It was more the general dissatisfaction I felt from them. If someone is complaining about something small, there’s likely a bigger problem.

This is extreme to have utensils play such a big role in someone’s job and livelihood. It’s funny though.

I think GEICO is a good place to start. Get a year of insurance experience and then apply somewhere else. I’ve heard good things about Allstate and CSAA, and some about Farmers too. Good luck!

You should put as much effort into finding a new job as you did with GEICO, but don’t quit without a plan.

I struggled for a few years but stuck it out. It got easier as I got better at the job. Now it’s just on autopilot every day. Some days are worse, but overall it’s not bad. I’m glad I stayed.

Let them pay you as long as you can.
