With everything getting more expensive lately, I’m wondering if it’s worth keeping my life insurance. It’s getting tough to balance all the costs, and I’m tempted to cancel it. What do you all think? Is it better to hold on to it or cut it to save money?
I get the struggle, but you might want to think twice before canceling. If you cancel now and try to get a new policy later, it could be more expensive, especially if your health changes or you’re older. Plus, your family would lose that financial protection if something happened to you.
@Wyatt
That’s what I was thinking too. I’ve heard that life insurance is cheaper when you’re younger, so canceling it now could end up costing more in the long run.
If you’re struggling with payments, maybe check if your insurer offers a payment holiday. I heard some companies let you pause payments for a few months without canceling the policy. It could give you a bit of breathing room.
@Griffin
Yeah, my insurer offers that too! It’s worth giving them a call and seeing if it’s an option. It’s better than canceling completely if you’re tight on cash.
@Ty
Same here! I realized I was spending loads on stuff like coffee and subscriptions that I could do without. Cutting those made it easier to afford the important things like insurance.
With inflation and rising costs, I’d say life insurance is even more important now. If anything were to happen, the cost of living for your family wouldn’t be going down. That’s why I’m holding onto mine, even though times are tough.
