Why would you use an app that tracks your driving stats? Forget that
https://www.iihs.org/topics/distracted-driving#cellphone-use-by-drivers “Thirty-four states and the District of Columbia have full bans for teen drivers on all electronic device use, including hands-free use. Little is known about the effects of these laws as currently written. However, the earliest laws against cellphone use by young, novice drivers did not seem to change teens’ behavior as much as laws that apply to all drivers (Foss et al., 2009; Goodwin et al., 2012). This may be because they are harder to enforce.”
Every time I do a rate check USAA is still the lowest for me, but let me tell you the safe pilot app was driving me crazy! I used to go in and mark trips as a passenger all the time but got sick of always going in after almost every drive… When I hand my phone to a child so they can change music or play crossy road or what ever… Now I gues USAA thinks I play Roblox on long drives. I am just that talented. I have one vehicle on Progressive (long story) and a little device plugged into my OBDII port. It doesn’t ding my driving when my kids are playing video games!
I’m glad to pay more or the same if it means I protect my driving data.
And this is why I dropped them as a carrier
I’ve never seen more entitled people except when it comes to the discussion of this optional and voluntary app. USAA sets the parameters for any discount. I assume their reasoning is based on risk and actuary models. If you don’t like that, don’t use it.
