Is this insurance plan okay for a 2021 Honda Accord?

Liability- 50k/100k/50k
Uninsured/underinsured- 25k/50k
Uninsured motorist property damage- 25k
Medical payments- 2k
Comprehensive- $250 deductible
Collision- $250 deductible

Your liability coverage should be higher, and you should add rental coverage.

Why should the liability be higher? And what is rental coverage for?

You only have $50k in property damage coverage. If you hit more than one car or come close to totaling a new vehicle, that might not be enough to cover the costs. Also, medical bills can get expensive fast.

Rental coverage helps if your car is being repaired or is totaled, and you need a rental car. Even if someone else is at fault, their insurance might not cover your rental, and you could end up paying out of pocket. If you have another vehicle, rental coverage might not be as important, but it’s something to consider.

It’s a good idea to talk to a licensed insurance agent who can explain everything and help you make sure you have enough coverage. It’s free to get this kind of advice.

Do you think Geico or another company is better? I got a quote from Progressive for $1115 for 6 months, no accidents, and Geico gave me $854 for 6 months.

People here don’t usually recommend specific companies because insurance rates are different for everyone. The best thing to do is to talk to an independent agent who can give you quotes from different companies and help you pick the best one for you.

Your coverage is too low. If you injure or kill someone, your bodily injury (BI) limit is all the insurance will cover. You should increase it to protect yourself.

I recommend you get 250/500 or 500 CSL, and if you have assets or risks, consider an umbrella policy of 1 or 2 million with uninsured motorist coverage.

Also, increase personal injury protection (PIP) to 250k. The $250 deductible will help protect you too.
