Is Iowa a matching state for siding replacement?

Does anyone know if an insurance company has to replace three sides of your home’s siding if they’re visible from the road? I’m not asking about the back side, just the parts in line of sight.

They usually go for a uniform appearance, but they don’t have to provide an exact match. How old is the siding and what type?

It’s 18-year-old faded red siding. They’re already replacing the front and one side of the house.

@Dana
Is it vinyl, aluminum, painted, or something else? Any different siding on the house that could make the replacement look more uniform?

It’s vinyl.

Do you have a siding or roof matching endorsement?

Is there any state law about this?

Quick answer: Only what’s visible from the street needs to match. They don’t cover all four sides unless you have a matching endorsement. If they’re not covering you and you have this endorsement, escalate to a supervisor.

Thank you! That’s what I thought—it should match if it’s visible from the road.
