Insurance for a car my daughter owns but I’m still paying

My 23-year-old daughter lives with me and bought a car last year. At the time, she had a learner’s permit, so I added her and her car to my insurance policy. But she let her permit expire, and now I got a notice from Geico saying they’ve revised my policy. It didn’t say exactly what changed, but it looks like they removed her as a driver, though the car is still on the policy. The car’s an older model and only has liability coverage. It’s parked in our driveway and isn’t being driven. Do I need to do anything else, or can I leave it as is until she gets a new permit?

You should be fine for now. The policy change just means your daughter isn’t listed as a driver anymore. Since the car is parked and not being driven, it should be covered under the current policy. I work in insurance (though in Canada), and I’d recommend giving your insurer or broker a quick call just to confirm that everything is in order with your specific situation.
