I was in a wreck where a driver pulled out of a casino parking lot, cut me off, and slowed down suddenly. I tried to avoid hitting him, but as I went around, he turned left (where there’s no left turn), and hit me. I requested the casino’s surveillance footage, which shows what happened, and the police have it. I sent the video to my insurance company, and they agreed the other driver is 100% at fault. But I couldn’t send it by email because the file is too big. Now, my insurance is telling me I need to send the video to the other driver’s insurance, but I can’t figure out how. The other insurance says my company has to send the video, but they won’t do it. Isn’t it my insurance company’s job to handle this for me?
Upload the video as an unlisted YouTube video and send the link to the adjuster.

A lot of big insurers block hyperlinks in emails for security reasons. I work at one, and my last job had the same policy.
@Shiloh
YouTube links are usually okay, or you can ask IT to allow it. Worst case, they can just type the link into their browser.
No, it’s not your insurance’s job to handle your claim with the other driver’s insurance. Their job is to defend you if the other party claims against you or to pay for your damages if you have the right coverage. If you have collision coverage, use that. If not, your insurance can’t help.
@Devon
Wouldn’t sending the video fall under ‘defending you against claims’? If the other insurance is trying to pin the fault on you, wouldn’t your insurance want to send them the proof?

Yes, if the other party is claiming against you, your insurance would handle that. But that doesn’t seem to be what’s happening here. The OP seems to think their insurance should help with their claim against the other driver, which they won’t do unless the OP has collision coverage.
I’m not sure how to post the video here, but it clearly shows the other driver pulling out of the casino parking lot, cutting across double yellow lines without using the merge lane, and pulling out in front of me. He then slammed on the brakes, leaving me no room to stop. I tried to go around, but he turned into me, causing my car to spin out and flip. The police report said the other driver was already ‘established in the lane,’ but the video clearly shows him cutting me off.
@Adair
Upload it to Google Drive and set the permissions to ‘anyone with the link.’ Then send that link to the insurance company.
