Haven’t heard back after interview… is this normal?

I applied for a remote inside sales position at Allstate on 9/24. I had a pre-recorded interview on 9/25, followed by a Zoom interview with a manager on 9/30. The manager seemed optimistic, and we even discussed potential start dates, but he said I’d hear back within 4-5 business days, and it’s been silent since then. My application status is still ‘in progress’ on Workday, and all scheduling was handled through an AI chatbot.

Is it normal to wait this long without any updates? Is there someone specific I can reach out to about my application status, or should I keep waiting? The uncertainty is tough since I really want this job, and my anxiety isn’t helping.

Honestly, if you have severe anxiety, working at Allstate might not be the best fit.

Trust me, you don’t want to work here. It’s not great.

Really? I’m set to start soon, and they made everything sound super smooth.

Which role are you starting? I work here and have had a positive experience so far.

I’m not sure about a direct contact, but it’s a pretty frustrating system. If you don’t get the job, you might’ve dodged a bullet! Still, wishing you the best of luck.

I’m in a similar situation. Went to an in-person job fair for Allstate in Chicago. The recruiter said I’d hear back the same day, and the managers said within 2-3 days, but I haven’t received any updates after emailing the recruiter.

When I applied a few months ago, it took over two weeks for them to send me a rejection email. I thought my interview went well, too.

Got my rejection email at 4am today :pensive:. Back to checking the Allstate job board, I guess!

Is this for a call center, an agency, or just remote inside sales? I’m currently an MSA and applied for inside sales as well. From what I hear, they’ve stopped hiring for the MSA program. Sales can be rewarding if you’re willing to put in the effort, but it has its ups and downs like any job. One of the perks is the freedom it offers.

@Skyler
It’s for remote inside sales. I’d like to join an agency, but there weren’t any openings available.
