I’ve had great experiences with USAA. I know not everyone feels this way, and I’ve seen plenty of negative stories, but for me, they’ve been solid. I just wanted to share a positive experience to balance things out.
Glad to hear it’s working for you. I used to be a big fan of USAA, but my view changed when they sold their brokerage services to Schwab and Victory Capital. Things just aren’t the same for me now.

I actually prefer Schwab for the brokerage side. I didn’t realize how basic USAA’s investment platform was until I switched. Now I feel like they can focus better on banking and insurance.
@Holt
Yeah, Schwab’s platform is excellent, no complaints there. But when they moved the USAA S&P500 Index Fund to Victory Capital, it made taxes more complicated for me. And honestly, Victory’s platform doesn’t measure up. Navy Federal also gave me better mortgage rates.

Victory was a mess for me. I pulled all my money out as soon as I could.
I don’t have any major issues with USAA. They still handle my banking, but the big rate hikes on auto insurance soured things a bit. I’m sticking around for now, but I might leave if I find a better deal.
@Echo
I always shop around each year, but so far no one beats USAA’s rates for me. If that changes, though, I’d switch. Times are tough, and I can’t afford blind loyalty.

I get that. I stayed loyal for too long and just kept paying the higher premiums. They’ve been good to me, but the last increase was just too much. I’ll probably come back later if the rates get better.
Same here. Their customer service has been top-notch compared to other financial places I’ve dealt with. When I got married, my husband’s insurance agent told me to stick with USAA because they couldn’t match their rates. Even when a friend of mine started a fintech company, he told me to stay with USAA because their service is unbeatable.
They’re not perfect. I moved my savings to another bank for a better interest rate, but their insurance products are great. My auto rates have barely increased compared to everyone else’s doubling.
I’ve always liked USAA because of how they handle claims. Windstorm damage? They paid for my roof. Truck break-in? They covered it. Lost food from a power outage? They reimbursed me. Their reps are always helpful.
Lately, though, the rising auto rates are making me consider switching to a bigger company. It’s hard to leave after 24 years, but the cost difference might force me to.
@Dale
Wow, you’re still getting good service? I’ve noticed a decline in the past few years. My last two claims were a mess, and they couldn’t even fix unauthorized charges on my account. I’m slowly moving away from them.
@Macon
I’m still getting great service from them. Hopefully, it stays that way for me.
I’ve been with USAA for 30 years and never had a problem. Their rates are unbeatable for me, and every claim I’ve filed has been handled without any issues.
Same here. Been with them since 1978.
I’m hoping things improve once the CEO steps down. I feel like they’ve been too focused on growing too fast and not enough on keeping up with staffing and tech. Hopefully, the next leader has a better vision.
USAA has been awesome for me. Honestly, I think the people who complain might be dealing with their own problems more than anything else.
