My cat had an enigmatic allergy when I adopted her a few months ago. I was able to take him to a dermatologist recently because he is a very itchy youngster. After determining that he has a yeast infection and other bacteria in his ear, the dermatologist wants to get rid of them in the hopes that this will reduce the itching. The issue is that they want to check up every two weeks I am on my third visit, and nothing seems to be improving. It also costs a lot of money. I wanted to know whether there was any pet insurance that would pay for medical examinations.

Yes, there are, but since you do not currently have insurance, they will consider this allergy to be pre-existing and refuse to pay for it.

An add-on offered by Lemonade can pay for the veterinary visits.

I appreciate your prompt response. I regret that the allergies are considered pre-existing conditions, but that is the reality. Regarding the veterinary checkups, I am having problems locating insurance that will pay for them. Though I am not sure if that and routine care are the same thing, I saw that.

We would refer to it as a wellness strategy. That is, I believe, an add-on to most insurance policies.

They probably only cover one or maybe two visits annually, if that. That is what my previous search yielded.
