Do I have the right Tesla insurance setup in California

How does MedPay work when my wife and I have great health insurance? We have no copays, and ER visits are $50.

MedPay works differently depending on the state. In California, it pays the full billed amount, not just what you owe after insurance. It’s a way to get reimbursed, even if your health insurance already covered the costs. You can also double-dip by claiming both MedPay and the at-fault driver’s liability insurance.

I don’t know much about insurance, but what is an ‘autonomous vehicle protection package’? It sounds made up.

Your UMPD coverage and collision coverage overlap. In most cases, UMPD is unnecessary if you already have collision. Instead, you might want the collision deductible waiver.

What’s the deductible waiver, and why would I need it instead of UMPD?

@Zephyr
The waiver pays your collision deductible if an uninsured driver damages your car and is at fault. UMPD is for people without collision coverage. Since you have collision, the waiver is more useful.
