Anyone using Harley insurance for non-Harley bikes?

I got a quote from Progressive for $2,300, but Harley quoted me just over $900 for full coverage, including uninsured motorist.

Progressive’s rates were twice as high as Harley’s…

I insured my partner’s 2023 Honda Rebel 300 through Harley. It was half the price and had better coverage than what Progressive offered.

I’ve got a Honda too (CB300F), and that’s been my experience comparing Harley to Progressive.

I have two Harleys insured through Harley insurance, and my total is $520 for the year.

Harley partners with several insurance companies. They get quotes and send you the best one. I saved quite a bit by going through them, specifically with Foremost.

From what I know, they’ll cover pretty much anything on two wheels, or three, and even some off-road four-wheelers. My Buell is currently insured through Harley.

I don’t use Harley insurance for my Harley, actually.

Harley does offer ‘in-house’ insurance, but it’s subcontracted through Sentry, if I remember right.

Had a bad crash back in 2020. Sentry handled everything quickly, but Geico took almost three years to settle.

Allstate insured my 2022 Sportster as an off-road dirt bike, which made my insurance around $2k. When I asked them to lower it, they barely budged, so I switched to GEICO. Now I pay $90 a month for better coverage (liability, collision, etc.).

I got a quote, but it was way too high.

I see some folks mentioning $4,000 quotes. Is that for full coverage? And the cheaper ones, are those just liability?

I’ve got an '08 Ultra Classic. With Geico, I’m paying $33 a month.

Prices definitely change depending on where you live. I’m in Dallas.

I’m paying less than $100 a year with Progressive. Got a 2002 FXDL and also have my car and truck insured with them.

Rates depend on a bunch of things: age, gender, driving record, credit history, zip code, and the value of your bike. That’s just the basics.

Progressive was the only one I could afford. I pay $278 a year for full coverage, plus a bit more for custom parts. Other companies wanted over $1,000 just for liability.

I’m paying $254 a year for full coverage on my 2017 Limited CVO with State Farm.

Progressive didn’t work for me. I’m paying less for four bikes with Dairyland than I did for one bike with Progressive.

If you have older bikes, Hagerty is great. They do agreed value policies, and their rates are pretty fair.

Try reaching out to a broker. They work with multiple insurance providers and can find you the best deals. A good broker knows where to get discounts.
