I got a quote from Harley insurance for $46 a month for full coverage. But then Progressive quoted me $71, and Geico was $191.
I’m a bit confused why Harley’s rate is so low. I don’t hear a lot of people saying they use them.

Harley insurance has pretty solid rates, and their coverage is good too.
Just be careful with auto-renew.
I had HD insurance for my Pan Am because they offered the best rate, like $600 a year. But when it came time to renew, they raised it to $980. I switched to Dairyland instead and ended up paying $580.
I’m puzzled why your quotes are so high. I pay about half that for full coverage with high limits on a new bike.
To answer your question, it might be worth looking into who underwrites Harley’s insurance. That can tell you a lot about their rates and service. Plus, HD has a big community they can negotiate with when setting up their rates.
@Vail
Maybe it’s because I’m 22? Also, I haven’t taken a safety course yet.

Yeah, age can definitely affect your rate.
I’ve got both a Harley and a Ducati. My older Ducati costs me $84 a month for full coverage, and it’s around $24 for the Harley. I’m 31 and took a safety course, which got me a small discount. The Ducati really stings on the insurance though, haha.
@Linden
Exactly, age is a huge factor with motorcycle insurance. That’s why I make sure to renew my safety certification through the MSF course every few years.

It varies a lot depending on where you live, your experience, age, bike value, and even things like theft risk and marital status.
Did you have to do anything special to qualify for the insurance?
Nope, it’s just for their bikes.
