Anyone else seeing crazy differences in homeowners insurance quotes in Crawfordville?

I’ve been getting quotes for homeowners insurance around Crawfordville, and the prices are all over the place. Some are as low as $2k, but others are close to $7k. What gives? Anyone else noticed this? Trying to figure out if it’s just me or if there’s something up with insurance companies here.

Same here. I live near Hummingbird Ln, and I got quoted $3,870 for $280k in coverage with an $8,300 deductible. I think it has to do with credit score and maybe even the number of pets you have? I’ve got 3 dogs, so I’m wondering if that’s part of the reason.

@Hollis
Wow, $3,870? That’s still lower than mine. I’m near Madeline Dr, and mine came in at $6,960 for $360k coverage and a $1,200 deductible. I’m also a smoker, so I’m sure that played a role.

Yeah, smoking definitely bumps it up. I don’t smoke, so that probably helped keep mine a little lower. It’s wild how much these quotes vary just based on small things like that.

I’m near Spring Ct, and I got $5,360 for $250k coverage with a $2,400 deductible. My place is newer (built in 2014), and I’m a smoker too, so I figured that might be why it’s still pretty high.

Seems like age of the house plays a big role too. Mine’s from 1991, and I’m paying around $4,320 for $340k in coverage with a $6,700 deductible. Maybe newer homes are just pricier to insure?

@Del
That makes sense. Also, I heard something about how newer homes might have more expensive materials to repair. Could be why yours is lower than mine even though I’ve got less coverage.

I’m not sure if it’s just the house age, because I live near Beechwood Dr and got quoted only $1,920 for $200k in coverage, but with an $11,700 deductible. I’ve got 2 pets and a decent credit score, so maybe that’s why it’s lower?

@Uma
That’s a pretty high deductible, though. I wonder if they’re lowering your premium because you’re taking on more risk with that high deductible.

Yeah, I figured the high deductible might be the reason it’s so low. But it’s still weird how much these quotes can differ. I was expecting them to be a bit more consistent.

I’m paying $2,550 for $160k in coverage with a $1k deductible. I’ve got a pretty good credit score (over 750), so I think that’s what helped me. Plus, I’m a non-smoker and only have one pet.

I think credit score is definitely a big factor. I’m just under 700, and I’m paying $3,390 for $195k in coverage with an $1,800 deductible. Also, I’ve got 3 pets and that might be bumping it up too.

@Heath
Yeah, that makes sense. Seems like credit score, pets, and whether or not you smoke are the biggest things affecting these quotes.

For me, it’s the age of the house and the location. I’m near Magnolia Ridge and got quoted $3,600 for $220k coverage, $500 deductible. I’m a smoker with a credit score of 750-799 and more than 3 pets. Seems like pets definitely affect the premium.

@Remy
Yeah, pets definitely play a part. I’ve got more than 3 too, and my quote is higher than a lot of people I know who don’t have pets.

I’m paying $6,920 for $370k coverage, $800 deductible. I’m a smoker with a credit score under 500, and I have 2 pets. I guess having a lower credit score and being a smoker really makes a difference, even though I’m not insuring a super expensive house.

@Hollis
Yeah, under 500 for a credit score will definitely hurt the premium. That’s probably the main reason your quote is so high.

@Hollis
Yeah, I’m working on improving my score, but it’s crazy how much they penalize you for that.
